Vizcaya Museum + Gardens has long been a Miami favorite for weddings and special events. With pristine views of Key Biscayne and the Biscayne Bay, it is the best of old world Italian architecture in the city.
Melis, an NYC-based bride, wanted a classic wedding through and through. Her white and soft pink florals played off of Vizcaya's color scheme and blended seamlessly with the architecture. When considering design aesthetic, it's important that the venue coordinates with the details - neither should fight for attention.
Working with Masi Events is always a pleasure for both the client and vendors. Jessica + Michael are truly the most talented duo, and literally run the day on a to-the-minute schedule. And, I should know because on this particular day, Michael told me I had exactly 2 more minutes to finish photographing the couple, and not a second more. Ha! All joking aside, this level of detail keeps the day headache free for everyone.
Elan Entertainment had the crowd on their feet throughout the night, and one of my favorite touches was a neon Hora Loca. Now, the Hora Loca is very Miami and it's such a great touch to the evening. Around 11PM or midnight, when the party is dying down, and people are complaining their feet hurt, the Hora Loca brings in masks, crowns, and various party gear to get the guests excited again. Often times, the bride + groom will bring in separate entertainers - from stilt walkers to fire breathers and more.
The evening was not short on surprises. Following the toasts, the Father of the Bride wow'd the couple with a special fireworks display over Biscayne Bay and rose petal canons fired as the couple made their exit in the front of the house.
