LIZ + JOSH - HICKORY ISLAND ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Liz + Josh chose the location of their engagement session for sentimental reasons. Liz's family owns a home on Little Hickory Island - about 30 minutes north of Naples, FL - and our photo shoot was actually shot in their backyard! It was a dream like setting; although, the entire session wasn't a dream. Twenty minutes into our time together, a bad storm started to brew. We had to run for cover mid-way through our session, and then a break in the rain allowed us to finish just before sunset.
Rainy weather is a scary thought on your wedding day; however, a word to the wise, purchase a clear umbrella from Amazon as a back up plan. Often times, there is a break in the weather for portraits. Colors brought by stormy weather add drama and depth. Check the colors from our shoot - just gorgeous! Also, don't forget to work with your planner or day of coordinator to develop a Plan B. You should always, always have an indoor alternative if hosting an outdoor wedding.
But back to Liz + Josh. Their engagement involves a group of friends, dinner and a lost contact. Check out their made for a comedy proposal here.
On a final note, the most most important thing to remember during your engagement photo session or on your wedding day is to relax, live the moment and have fun! Remember that certain things are beyond your control. You can't change the weather, so don't let it ruin your fun!
