The Deering Estate

Natalia and Travis are friends of my past clients Kelsey + Jaime, and I always love working with friends and siblings of clients because it's a guaranteed good time for all.

Bride Natalia opted for a First Look with both her Father and the Groom. Deering Estate is a great venue because of its expansive acreage and many photography-friendly locations.

Prior to their nuptials, the couple moved from Miami to Santa Cruz, California, so the bride was planning from afar. Vendors, headed by design firm, The House Gather, worked simultaneously to bring this tropical wedding to life. The scenic atmosphere of The Deering Estate truly sets the tone for this December wedding. Guests enjoyed the palm tree-lined ceremony on the lawn with views of Biscayne Bay. Wanting to add their personal touch, the couple recited handwritten vows while their friends provided the ceremony music.

Cocktail hour followed at the base of the main home, and the reception was in the front courtyard. Gorgeous rentals from Atlas Rentals and Nuage Design Inc decorated the reception with some simple accents, and Simple Florals gave this wedding its dreamy feel.

Some history about Deering Estate (16701 SW 72nd Ave, Miami, FL 33157). Owner Charles Deering, an American business, art owner and philanthropist, lived on the 444-acre property for 5 years. Following his death, the estate passed hands a number of times before the State of Florida purchased it for $22.5 million in 1985. The grounds are one of the largest tropical hammocks in the continental U.S. - and with its view of Biscayne Bay, it makes a great location for an engagement session or wedding.
